Twotypesofsysteminterfacematrixareintroducedinthissection.
•TypeA–Itwasintroducedinthepreviouseditionofthishandbook.
DataareenteredandorganizedsymmetricallyinanMSExcel
spreadsheet.Therefore,thedatadonotindicatethedirectionofthe
interfaces.Refertotheexampleonthefollowingpage.
•TypeB–Itwasintroducedrecently.Itisgeneratedfromthe
softwarecalledSystemInterfaceAnalyzer(SIA).Dataareentered
andorganizedinanMSAccessDatabase.Asysteminterface
matrixcanbegeneratedautomaticallyfromSIA.
TheexampleonthefollowingpageshowsaTypeAinterfacematrix
whichidentifiesandquantifiesthestrengthofsysteminteractionsby:
•Showingwhethertherelationshipisnecessaryoradverse
