3.28.1WindDrivenRain
CR3-192[156]Somecustomersrequirethatthecabinetpreventwaterintrusionafterexposuretoasimulatedwinddrivenraintest.ThistestshallbeconductedonthesamecabinetusedfortheThermalShocktest(R3-191)andshallbeconductedimmediatelyfollowingthattest.
Thereshallbenoevidenceindicatingthatwatermaycomeincontactwiththecabinetelectronics.Themaximumtotal
accumulationofwaterinthecabinetshallnotexceed1cm3(1gramofwater)per0.028m3(1ft3)ofcabinetvolume.

Thesimulatedwindshallbedirectedhorizontallytoblowthroughthewatersprayanddriveitagainstthesurfacesofthecabinet.The
cabinetshallberotatedsothateachsurfaceisexposedfor30minutes.Thedoorsshallthenbeopened,oneatatime,andthe
interiorshallbeexamined.
3.28.2RainIntrusion
R3-193[159]Cabinetsshallbeprotectedagainstwaterintrusionduringheavyrainstorms.Thecabinetshallincludeprovisionssuchthatwateroncabinetsurfacesanddoorsisproperlychanneledordrainedtopreventwaterrunningintothecabinetinteriorwhen
doorsareopenedfollowingtherainstorm.Afterexposuretoasimulatedraintest,thereshallbenoevidenceindicatingthatwater
maycomeincontactwiththecabinetelectronics.Themaximum |
