ABSTRACT One of the most challenging tasks for network utilities is to reduce costs and improve reliability
at the same time. In order to optimize this kind of asset management problem, advanced ITsolutions
are needed to provide reliability analysis as part of planning process.
This paper presents advanced reliability based network analysis for distribution network.
Enhanced failure rate models have been developed based on failure statistics and engineer
judgement. Practical fault management process has also been modeled as part of the analysis.
Outage cost models for different customer groups are utilized in order to reach financial results
for cost optimization. Finally the practical implementation and demonstration cases are presented
in the paper.
